ABOUT ME >>  I 1 I 2 I

Vichian Boonmeemak was born in 1959 at Lomsak, a city in the north-eastern part of Thailand, the fifth of six children of a farmer`s family. At Poh Chang Art College, he studied aspects of fine art such as   printmaking and sculpture. Soon after he began to  support himself by making realistic portraits.

In 1985, Vichian went to the USA to study American, European and modern art. This was the first time he felt the influence of western art. Throughout different periods of Vichian`s life his art has changed. His first exhibition at Catalina Island in 1986 included landscapes series and realistic works. The same year Vichian moved to San Francisco to do further studies at the academy of art college, where he concentrated on painting, anatomy, movement, and sculpture. .

His paintings are what he believes in – a moment of infinite love, freedom and harmony – and something subtle beyond all concetions. Vichian has an eclectic style, his paintings are like a playground of symbols and imagination. His painting explodes quietly off the canvas to reveal a world of dancing imagery.

He has painted mysterious café scenes as well
as truly wild canvases with imaginative and creative brush strokes that bring life to colors
(Bob Eyes – a critic from San Francisco, USA). Over the years he has created works in media such as oil, ink, collage, watercolor, wood structure, and others

“….from above the sky to the land of expiernce, to grow with love and compassion…”

To work in my art is praying from life the heart
of god to contact my inner self. I like to work spontaneously because it shows the nature of things. I find the natural stage of things is the most beautiful experience, most surprising,
most honest, and it opens my heart, my mind,
my creativity. I feel responsible….

I know everything starts from the first step so
I endeavour to do my art as purely as possible,
and not to make it commercial that is the main reason to make me explore something new all the time.
